New Vice President in Asia Pacific office and retirements

July 2026

Cognitec congratulates Michael Matheson on his promotion to Vice President Asia Pacific, effective July 11, 2026. In his new position, Matheson draws on more than 20 years of experience in biometric identity management, face recognition, and border security technologies to further grow Cognitec’s business ventures in the region. He will lead a skilled and seasoned Australian team, with former VP Terry Hartmann remaining in a consultant position to support the transition.

The leadership change in Australia follows Hartmann’s retirement after more than 10 years with Cognitec. During this time, Terry achieved incredible successes and growth for the Australian team, with the Asia Pacific office reaching its highest revenue in 2025, winning and delivering the Australia Home Affairs Border project; creating new markets in India, Bangladesh and New Zealand; and with building an enthusiastic and future-ready team.

In Cognitec’s U.S. office, Roger Kelesoglu retired after working for Cognitec since 2003. Kelesoglu successfully led continent-wide sales efforts, most notably by fostering many long-standing client relationships and therefore maintaining large recurring contracts. At some point, he managed a team of 14 employees in the Rockland, MA office. In the last few years, the U.S. team celebrated the largest revenue growth in office history.

As Vice President Americas, John King will continue strengthening the relations with our established partners in the Americas, while introducing new sales channels and business strategies for Cognitec Systems Corporation.
