Technical Consultant

Reports to: Vice President Americas

Location: Greater Boston Area, MA, USA

The Technical Consultant provides technical support to customers for the installation, configuration, ongoing usage and integration of Cognitec products. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience with computer hardware, networking and OS administration, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related equivalent experience.

Key areas of responsibility

  • provide product license fulfillment and product activation support
  • provide internal support for demonstrations and tradeshows
  • test, evaluate and report on existing and new products and product releases
  • analyze customer requirements and propose technical solutions
  • conduct comprehensive technical training for internal and external customers
  • travel to customer sites and/or trade shows, as well as occasional travel to headquarters in Germany

Desired skills and experience

  • extensive experience with computer hardware, networking and OS administration (Windows XP/7, Windows Server, and Linux) required
  • knowledge of C, C++, .NET or Java preferred
  • familiarity with optical science, camera equipment and image processing preferred
  • strong technical writing and presentation/platform skills
  • excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • self- motivated with a willingness to learn new technologies
  • strong organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related equivalent experience
