Sales Administrator

Reports to: Vice President Americas

Location: Greater Boston Area, MA, USA

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized Sales Administrator to provide exceptional support to our Sales team and to work closely with our Professional Services, Technical Support, Accounting and Marketing colleagues.

Key areas of responsibility

  • handle all incoming customer requests via phone or email
  • provide a point of contact for customers with queries about orders or deliveries
  • take care of all new leads from Cognitec’s website, company email and trade shows
  • make discovery calls with prospects to determine needs
  • plan for and attend domestic trade shows
  • act as an extension of the Sales team when sales staff is away from the office
  • handle the licensing process, including processing requests in our Order Management System
  • accurately respond to licensing questions from customers
  • develop and maintain thorough knowledge of important customers
  • prepare and mail evaluation agreements
  • prepare sales quotes
  • help with creating proposals
  • act as a resource for external sales
  • understand, manage and format contracts
  • maintain accurate account and contractual records in Salesforce CRM, including attaching signed contracts/agreements
  • create and maintain accurate, standard and customized reports in our Salesforce CRM
  • analyze data to help the company understand trends and make better sales and marketing decisions
  • assist with the marketing processes

Desired skills and experience

  • self- motivated and flexible with a willingness and ability to learn new functions, skills and technologies
  • business-related degree or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of two years of related administrative or sales background experience
  • proficiency with Salesforce CRM preferred
  • proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • strong organizational skills
  • excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • ability to work independently and without supervision
  • ability to understand IT systems
  • thoroughness with attention to detail
  • knowledge of company products, or the ability and willingness to learn
  • ability to explain product features

  • valid passport required for occasional travel to company headquarters in Dresden, Germany
